At The Daily Reports, accuracy is our top priority. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently. We do not hide errors, and we aim to maintain trust with our readers through openness and accountability.
How We Handle Errors
1. Minor Errors
Typographical mistakes, misspellings of names, or formatting errors are corrected immediately in the text without a formal note.
2. Factual Errors
If a story contains a factual inaccuracy, such as an incorrect date, statistic, or quotation, we will:
- Correct the article text as soon as possible.
- Add a “Correction Note” at the bottom of the article explaining the change and the date it was made.
Example:
“Correction: An earlier version of this article stated the conference was held on Tuesday. It was actually on Wednesday.”
3. Retractions
In rare cases where a story is fundamentally false, misleading, or legally compromising, we may:
- Retract (delete) the article from the website.
- Publish an Editor’s Note explaining the reason for the retraction.
